Position Overview
As a Probation Officer, you will be at the forefront of change, providing support to individuals who have been sentenced to probation. Your responsibilities will include:
- Assessing the needs and risks of probationers through comprehensive evaluations.
- Creating and implementing rehabilitation plans tailored to individual circumstances.
- Conducting regular meetings with probationers to monitor progress and provide guidance.
- Collaborating with other agencies, including social services, housing, and mental health providers, to facilitate comprehensive support.
- Maintaining accurate records of interactions and progress reports.
- Providing advice to the courts on probation suitability and offender management.
Key Responsibilities
Your role as a Probation Officer will include, but not be limited to, the following:
- Conduct initial assessments and risk evaluations to determine the specific needs of each probationer.
- Develop personalized rehabilitation programs focusing on skills development, employment, education, and mental health.
- Engage with offenders in a meaningful way to promote positive behavior changes.
- Monitor compliance with probation conditions, addressing any issues or breaches promptly.

- Prepare reports and documentation for court hearings and staff meetings.
Qualifications and Skills
We are looking for individuals who possess the following qualifications:
- A degree in Social Work, Psychology, Criminology, or a related field.
- Experience in criminal justice, social services, or community work is an asset.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills to effectively engage with diverse individuals.
- Ability to empathize with individuals from various backgrounds while maintaining professional boundaries.
