Position Overview
We are a dynamic and leading construction firm specializing in residential and commercial projects across the UK. We are currently seeking an experienced Quantity Surveyor to fill the role of QS Manager. In this role, you will lead a dedicated team and manage the day-to-day operations of our quantity surveying department, ensuring the successful delivery of projects on time and within budget.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee and manage all aspects of quantity surveying on multiple projects.
- Prepare detailed cost estimates and budgets, ensuring accuracy and compliance with industry standards.
- Conduct feasibility studies and value engineering analysis to optimize project costs.
- Prepare and evaluate tender documentation and manage the tendering process.
- Develop project timelines and monitor progress against the agreed financial and schedule objectives.
- Engage with clients and stakeholders to provide updates on project status, costs, and timelines.
- Resolve contractual disputes through negotiation, mediation, or arbitration.
- Lead, mentor, and develop the team of quantity surveyors to enhance their professional capabilities.
- Implement best practices and ensure adherence to procedures and standards across the team.
Qualifications and Skills
- Bachelor’s degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, or a related field.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in quantity surveying, with at least 2 years in a managerial role.
- Strong understanding of construction contracts and experience in contract administration.
- Proficiency in cost management software and tools.
- Exceptional analytical skills and attention to detail.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively work with various stakeholders.
- Ability to manage and prioritize multiple projects simultaneously.
- Professional accreditation (e.g., MRICS) is preferred but not required.
