Job Responsibilities
As a part-time bookseller, you will be involved in various aspects of store operations, including but not limited to:
- Customer Engagement: Welcome and assist customers, offering personalized recommendations to enhance their shopping experience.
- Inventory Management: Assist in receiving and restocking merchandise, ensuring shelves are well-organized and inspiring.
- Café Assistance: If applicable, help customers in our café area; preparation of beverages and food items.
- Promotions and Events: Participate in store events, promoting sales and book signings while creating an engaging environment.
- Team Collaboration: Work closely with fellow team members to maintain a friendly, efficient working environment; share ideas and insights for store improvement.
Qualifications
We are seeking enthusiastic individuals who meet the following criteria:
- Must be at least 16 years of age; prior retail experience is a plus but not required.
- Strong passion for books and reading; knowledge of contemporary literature is an advantage.
- Excellent interpersonal skills, with the ability to connect and engage with customers.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
- Basic math skills and familiarity with operating a cash register.
